The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office is excited to once again join communities across the nation celebrating National Night Out, an annual evening dedicated to strengthening the bonds between law enforcement and the neighborhoods we serve.

What is National Night Out?

National Night Out events in 2024

Since its inception in 1984, National Night Out has grown into a beloved tradition that brings together millions of neighbors and first responders across the country. It’s more than just a block party, it’s a visible show of unity and a powerful reminder that when neighbors and law enforcement work together, our communities become safer, more caring places to live.

How to participate

Whether you live in a rural neighborhood or a busy city block, we invite you to take part by organizing your own gathering. Host a BBQ, potluck, or ice cream social -- big or small, every effort helps build stronger community ties.

Registration is open

To make sure your event is on our radar, register your gathering by Friday, August 1, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. by visiting our National Night Out registration page.

Deputies will do their best to stop by registered events throughout our unincorporated areas, as well as the contract cities of Cupertino, Saratoga, and Los Altos Hills. If you live in an area outside our jurisdiction, check with your local police department for their National Night Out plans.
