Protective Services Division
The Protective Services Division plays a crucial role in the safety and security of the County of Santa Clara Health System. Sheriff's Protective Service Officers (SPSO) provide security and safety for County-owned, operated, or administered property and direct and assist individuals conducting business at County facilities. Their uniformed presence deters criminal activity, and they are skilled in de-escalating routine and emergency security-related situations. This emphasis on safety should make our audience feel secure and protected.
The Santa Clara County Health System is Northern California's most extensive public healthcare system and our community's healthcare safety net. It includes the Behavioral Health Services Department, Public Health Department, Santa Clara Valley Healthcare's network of hospitals and clinics, including Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, O'Connor Hospital and St. Louise Regional Hospital, Emergency Medical Services Agency, Custody Health Services Department, and Valley Health Plan. In 2023, its 10,000+ dedicated staff provided care to more than 318,000 people, handling 172,000+ emergency visits, two million+ primary care visits, and 139,726 emergency ambulance responses.
