Accounts Receivable
The Accounts Receivable Unit prepares invoices and sends them to individuals or organizations who received billable services from the Sheriff’s Office. The unit reviews incoming and outstanding payments and plays an important role to ensure the Sheriff’s Office recovers its costs for providing reimbursable services.
Accounts Payable
The Accounts Payable Unit is responsible for processing invoice payments for all Enforcement and Custody operations.
Budget Management Unit
The Budget Management Unit works with the County’s Office of Budget and Analysis to prepare the Sheriff’s Office’s annual budget. The unit monitors spending, prepares financial reports, and assists all divisions in managing their budgets to ensure that County funds are used responsibly.
Civil Accounting
As an integral part of the overall Civil process, the Civil Accounting Unit facilitates civil judgment payments between creditors and debtors, and processes various documents such as payment receipts, release notices, and writ returns.
Grants
The Grants Unit is responsible for monitoring, reporting, and reconciling grants awarded to the Sheriff’s Office from Federal, State, and local partnering agencies
Inmate Welfare Services Unit
The Inmate Welfare Services Unit is responsible for all financial matters related to inmate commissary accounts. The unit also provides accounting support for Inmate Welfare Services (IWS) operations for programs that benefit incarcerated persons such as educational courses, religious services, and legal research services.
Payroll Unit
The Payroll Unit processes payroll for more than 2,000 Sheriff's Office employees. The unit is responsible for timely input of timesheets and overtime cards for both sworn and professional staff.
Purchasing Unit
The Purchasing Unit is responsible for processing requisition requests for the Sheriff’s Office. The unit adheres to the Controller-Treasurer Department’s Accounts Payable Process Administrative Guide and works closely with the County Procurement Department and vendors to procure necessary goods and services for all agency divisions.
