CPRA - Public Records Request

The Media Relations Unit fields dozens of inquiries each day. Publicly releasable information will be provided in a timely manner. However, if specific records or data is being sought, filing a records request under the California Public Records Act (CPRA) may be required. Records requests can be made by filling out the Public Records Request form or by emailing [email protected]. Please visit the Sheriff’s Office Records Division page for additional information.

Booking photos

The Sheriff's Office will release booking photos of arrests made by the Sheriff's Office that do not jeopardize the successful investigation and prosecution of individuals. Booking photos of people arrested by other law enforcement agencies will not be released. Please contact the arresting agency for the booking photo. If you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact the media relations unit.

Filming and photographic activities

The Sheriff's Office frequently receives requests from media/production companies to participate in motion pictures, talk shows, crime shows, etc. These requests are evaluated by the Media Relations Unit, and recommendations are forwarded to Administration for review and subsequent approval or rejection. Once approved, unit personnel assist these organizations and monitor the production relative to agency involvement. Please e-mail all requests for filming to [email protected].
