The Sheriff’s Office Civil Division will serve Earnings Withholding Orders by Certified Mail on federal government employers only. Examples of federal government employers include but are not limited to the United States Postal Service, US Department of Defense, and US Military. The Civil Division requires an additional $9 fee for the cost of the certified mailing in addition to the $45 to open an EWO file.
