Sheriff Sales

The Santa Clara County Sheriff may sell real or personal property, or a judgment debtor’s interest in real or personal property to satisfy a variety of legal processes.  Sheriff sales are noticed locally, conducted as auctions, and open to the public.  Prospective bidders should refer to sections 701.510–701.680 of the Code of Civil Procedure for provisions governing the terms, conditions, and effect of the sale and the liability of defaulting bidders.

Sheriff’s personnel cannot provide legal advice or answer questions about the property.
